What do I think I think?
All my life I have been writing and performing music. There really is nothing I enjoy more than working through the creative process with myself and others. From playing Rock n Roll shows and writing songs to producing albums and videos I will be there with all of my heart.
Every spare minute I get is spent on some form of music, I have my band A Primitive Evolution and I also compose a wide range of music for various projects. My music has been used on the television series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" as well as the cartoon network show "Stoked." I am constantly writing my next piece of music whether it's the new album for the band, scoring short films or doing some remixes I can't seem to stop my brain from this process.
Aside from writing and performance I have been lucky enough to gain experience in many fields of the Entertainment Industry. I am an expert in Digital Audio Software and Workstations. Proficient in Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic and so on. I have a vast knowledge of Audio Gear, Microphones and Amplification and how the devices all work together to make great sounding albums. Through my work in Digital Audio I have gained excellent troubleshooting skills in dealing with computers, signal path and all the other fun problems that come along with recording sound.
I also enjoy Sound Design for TV, FIlm and Video Games. I worked with Karen Bliss on her PSA Cartoon for Racism called "The Girl with the Pin Head Parents." It was the perfect opportunity for me to hone my skills in mixing for television and film. For this project I did the Sound Design, Foley, dialogue editing and mixing in 5.1 surround.
My work at Nelvana and Corus Entertainment has given me an array of invaluable business skills. As the Casting Administrator I have gained experience and knowledge in Accounting, Business Affairs, Department Management and ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) and it's Independent Production Agreement.
Through the organizational and business skills I have picked up I am able to produce and manage various projects with ease and within a budget. In the summer of 2010 we formed a video production company called "The Parkdale Butchers" to produce music videos for our band. The group consists of all the band members and many friends and fans that have become a part of the team.
I strive to create professional music, sound design, performances and final products that people will enjoy as much as I have enjoyed these same things throughout my life.
